A position is now available for an experienced Supply and Distribution Manager.
Job type: Full Time (38 hours per week)
Wage package: $65, 000 per year+ Bonus+ Superannuation (negotiable if with more than 10 years working experience)
Purpose of the position: Reporting directly to the Director, you will responsible for setting and implementing the retail and wholesale logistics strategy to optimise the movement of inventory through the network.
Duties and responsibilities
Coordinate site activities including working with transport sub-contractors, internal functional departments, and stores to maintain high standard delivery to the customer. Provide premium service & support across all logistics processes and providers. Work closely with the business & 3PL providers to ensure day to day activities are achieved;
Analyse procedures and implement methods that optimise handling, storage, security and transport resources. Develop innovative ways to streamline operations processes, working to optimise every link in the supply chain;
Be able to get hands on with the details in the close team environment to ensure the processing of dispatch, delivery, claims, returns and insurance are managed and processed appropriately;
Control stock take and distribution, ensuring operations excellence and the highest level of security and inventory accuracy. Accountable to achieve and improve warehouse KPI's – accuracy, damage, productivity, etc.;
Operate within budget provisions and ensure efficient control and sign off of logistics invoicing process. Manage annual budget from supplier tenders to cost reviews and provide meaningful reports and insights on key logistics measures and budget control on a monthly and as needed basis;
Lead and motivate a team of logistics professionals.Optimize team member utilization, equipment, technology and time;
Ensure compliance to OH&S Policies and Procedures at all timesby all employees, contractors and visitors.Be accountable for a safe site for everyone, every day by implementing and evaluating safe work practices, improving safety performance and celebrating safety achievements;
Monitor purchasing activities to ensure efficient inventory/product & information flows;
Essential Requirements:
To be considered for this position you will bring a minimum of 5 years experience in logistics. You will be a logistics professional with experience across the 3PL, FMCG or Retail/Wholesale industries, ideally with international exposure. Having managed key projects across systems and warehouse layout and design, you will be a proven leader of large teams and have had experience managing large budgets.
You will also possess:
1. Fluent Mandarin speaker with good understanding of Asian cultureis preferred;
2. Strong Systems background having worked with a variety of TMS/WMS systems;
3. Experience running a national warehouse network across multiple facilities
4. The ability to implement change and develop a positive working culture
5. Have an aptitude for learning in order to develop a good understanding & knowledge of all carpet and floor products.
6. Strong Communication Skills Possess good computer skills;
